High efficiency Doherty power amplifiers for modern wireless communication systems: A brief review

Due<span lang="EN-MY">to the high peak to average power ratio (PAPR) of modern modulated signals, amplifiers (PAs) have been forced operate at back-off (BO) region their saturation in order avoid signal clipping and distortion. However, classical PAs suffer from low efficiency BO operation. Therefore, has be enhanced that region. Many techniques proposed. Among them, Doherty amplifier (DPA) is considered as most suitable technique due its simple structure performance. conventional design limited a 6 dB level, which does not satisfy requirements communication systems. In this paper, brief review significant high-efficiency DPA presented. First, topology operation principles are briefly discussed. Second, enhancement such an asymmetrical DPA, output combiner modification, gate bias adaption, offset line optimization, multi-way were The study shows suitable, simple, effective solution approach. it needs investigated terms bandwidth meet efficiency-bandwidth wireless systems </span>5G.
